The Plastics Industry in the Middle East - Strategic Options for the European Plastics Machinery Industry

This study commissioned by EUROMAP in June 2008 to Applied Market Information Ltd. - a Bristol-based specialist market research and consulting company - has been finalized recently. In a presentation which took place on the occasion of ARABPLAST 2009 in Dubai, the major findings have been introduced to about 45 participants from the plastics and rubber machinery industries in Austria, Germany, Italy and the UK.

The scope for the study had been agreed upon by EUROMAP's national associations. It addresses the economic, social and political background, maps the status and development of local raw material manufacturing and looks at machinery supplies to the local plastics industry. The principal focus of the study is the plastics processing industry in the countries under consideration and the evolution of major applications. Geographically the study covers the Gulf Cooperation Council which is made up by the countries Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait as well as Oman.

The study has been forwarded via EUROMAP's national associations to all their member companies.
