EUROMAP 77 – Second Release Candidate published

EUROMAP 77 – Second Release Candidate published

11 Sep 2017

In October 2016, the European umbrella organisation of plastics and rubber machine manufacturers published the first Release Candidate of EUROMAP 77 to provide a standardized information model for data exchange between injection moulding machines and MES via OPC UA. In the meantime, several projects to develop further information models have started, so that a higher-level structure became necessary: Reusable information blocks (e.g. general information on the machines, such as manufacturer, model, serial number and their machine status) are going to be defined in the superordinate EUROMAP  83 to avoid duplicating work and, most of all, inconsistencies. All future models of plastics and rubber machines will build on it and specify the generic definitions for individual applications and machine combinations. This shows how important a standardized procedure is to European plastics and rubber machine manufacturers in order to counteract customized and incompatible solutions.

Due to structural changes, a second Release Candidate of EUROMAP 77 has been published together with the Release Candidate of EUROMAP 83 and presented to interested circles for commenting. Further information is provided on the EUROMAP website under www.euromap.org/i40.

In the next step, several injection moulding machine manufacturers and MES providers will implement and test the interface before the final version will be released at the beginning of 2018.
